• Cards are handmade with love by the artist & her helpers.
• There are 23 cards (Major Arcana plus one title card).
• Size of cards: 3.5" x 5.25"
• The printed images are done in full color lithography on glossy paper and are coated with an aqueous coating. The details of the art are clear and distinct and the colors are true.
• The card back is sparkling antique gold cardstock (acid free), printed with an original herbal wreath design. The adhesive used to back the images with the gold cardstock is also acid free.
• The bag is sparkling, translucent golden metallic/organdy, with a gold cord drawstring.
• 48 page booklet, measuring 4"x5" tucks into bag with cards. Explains the unique “Gaian” symbolism and interpretation of each card.
• Booklet is signed by the artist.
• Sachet of blessing herbs as seen on the World card (sage, cedar, sweetgrass, lavender) is included in each bag. Herbs are grown or gathered here on my home island.

The First Edition deck was a limited edition of 125 copies which sold out in pre-orders before it was released. It was signed & numbered and the cards were slightly larger than this Second Edition. The backing was sparkling blue cardstock, and the set included a handmade velvet bag.

Frequently Asked Question regarding the Majors-only deck
and its relationship to the Minors:

I recently received the following email:

“I’ve been following your blog for some time, and feel that I am nearing the time that I am ready to purchase a deck. But I wonder, will you be selling a ‘filler’ of all the minors for people who’ve already bought the majors, or would I do better to wait if I am most interested in a complete deck?”

Since I’ve had a number of people ask me the same question, I thought I’d post my reply here.

The Majors-only deck stands alone; I won’t have Minors to sell that “match” it or complete a set.   The reason for this is the cost of producing the handmade cards. They’re very expensive and labor-intensive to make.  The Major Arcana of 23 cards plus the booklet and bag sells for $80, and my profit for creating the art itself is a small percentage of the retail price. There are 56 cards in the Minor Arcana, so a set of matching Minors would need to be sold for twice or even three time that.  It’s just too expensive, both to produce and to sell.

The good news is that the entire deck and book will be published in a commercial version by Llewellyn Worldwide in September 2011. I will also be releasing a high-end Collectors Edition in the Spring of 2010. Please subscribe to my newsletter for more information as it becomes available!
